In France they are known as crêpes, which are quite thin. In the Netherlands, we make pancakes that are a little thicker. We love to sprinkle our pancakes with syrup and powdered sugar or serve them with cheese or bacon. American pancakes are probably the thickest pancakes in the world. Even though we are located in Amsterdam and mainly serve typical Dutch pancakes, we don’t want you to miss out on this delicious American treat.
Maple syrup: the golden finish on your American pancake
When thinking of American pancakes, most of us probably have the same picture in mind: a pile of thick fluffy pancakes, drizzled with delicious, sugary maple syrup. Americans love them, and we must admit: we do too!

We also serve American pancakes in combination with Belgian chocolate sauce. After all, why wouldn’t you combine the best of both worlds? This combination is a favorite. To top it off, you can add sliced banana, coconut chips or almond flakes, if you like.
